Eiffel Tower Introduces New Group Ticket Policy from 29 September 2026
Travel professionals planning group visits to the Eiffel Tower should take note of an important policy change coming into effect on 29 September 2026. The Eiffel Tower management has announced that professionally managed groups will no longer be able to purchase tickets directly at the on-site ticket office. Instead, all eligible groups must complete their bookings online through the dedicated platform for tourism professionals.
What Is Changing?
From 29 September 2026, any professionally managed group consisting of more than nine people, including the guide, must book tickets online before arriving at the Eiffel Tower. This rule applies to both lift and stair access.
In addition, groups will not be allowed to split into smaller parties at the ticket office to bypass the new policy. The Eiffel Tower authorities have clearly stated that this practice will not be accepted.
Why Has This Policy Been Introduced?
The new booking policy has been introduced to improve visitor flow, enhance safety, and provide a better overall experience for everyone visiting one of Paris’ most iconic landmarks.
With millions of visitors every year, managing large tour groups efficiently has become increasingly important. Requiring advance online reservations will help reduce congestion at the ticket office, shorten waiting times, and make entry more organised for both groups and individual visitors.
What This Means for Tour Operators
Travel agencies, destination management companies (DMCs), tour operators, and licensed guides should update their booking procedures immediately for all visits scheduled on or after 29 September 2026.
Tourism professionals must register and book through the official professional booking platform. As account approval and contract processing may take time, businesses are encouraged to complete the registration process well in advance of their planned tours. Tickets for visits from 29 September 2026 became available through the professional booking system from 2 July 2026.
